People come to Hilltending for many reasons. It might be to find insight into dealing with a period of transition such as moving, new job, or loss of a loved one. It might be to move deeper into one’s vocation. Hilltending is also powerful as a means of ecotherapy in response to specific psychological or physiological symptoms. Care providers (therapists, coaches, spiritual directors) come to Hilltending as a form of self-care, a means to continue their own process and to be more present for clients.
Oftentimes though, Hilltending is engaged without a clearly understood reason – there might just be a gnawing feeling of incompleteness, inadequacy, dissatisfaction, or a sense of meaninglessness.
